By installing Panopto on your own computer, you can record in your office or at home.

Path to download the Panopto application:
Course site > Panopto Video > Create > Record a new session > Download Panopto

You can also download the application from the Panopto server at rec.hi.is. Be sure to select Háskóli Íslands Canvas from the dropdown menu above the sign-in button.

The steps below explain how to download the Panopto application through Canvas.

1. Click the Panopto Video link in the course navigation menu in Canvas. The Panopto environment opens. If Panopto Video is not in the course navigation menu, you must first add the link there; see Course Settings and Navigation.
2. Click Create and Record a new session.
   
3. Click the Download Panopto button. The application is downloaded to your computer.
   

   If you are using a Mac, click Click here for other download options and select macOS.
   If Panopto is already installed on your computer, you can click Open Panopto Recorder in the small window to start recording.

4. Open the file and install Panopto.
