Student View and Test Student

Student View

Purpose

Student View lets teachers check how the course appears to students and confirm that students can open and use course content such as assignments, quizzes, discussions, and files. In Student View, the teacher enters the course as the Test Student. The teacher can then submit work, take quizzes, and view the course from a student perspective. After leaving Student View, the teacher can grade the Test Student’s submissions.

Limitations

Student View shows the course from the perspective of a general student. Unpublished items and content that is available only to selected students will not appear there. The Test Student also cannot be added to groups, so groups cannot be fully tested in Student View.

Good Practice

It is a good idea to review the course in Student View regularly, especially after adding new content and before assignment deadlines. This helps teachers catch common problems, such as unpublished assignments, quizzes, or files, or settings that prevent students from accessing content.
