FeedbackFruits Comprehension

Purpose
FeedbackFruits Comprehension can be used to promote active reading and support a better understanding of course material. It can also encourage students to prepare outside class by counting the activity towards participation marks.

This type of activity is particularly useful for course material that students often find difficult or confusing. It can also be used to encourage critical thinking about specific topics and to give students opportunities to explore different perspectives and discuss the material with one another.

A little more about how the tool works

FeedbackFruits Comprehension is designed for course material that students are expected to read, listen to, or watch. The teacher shares a file with students, such as a Word document, PDF, video, image, or audio recording, and adds prompts for students to respond to within the material.

For example, students may be asked to explain a particular idea and highlight parts of the text to support their response. If the material is an image, they may be asked to mark specific areas and explain their observations. The activity can be set up anonymously, and the teacher can also define how grading should be calculated.

Teachers can monitor students’ progress and participation, and comment on their contributions. Peer comments can also be made visible to support collaborative learning. Comprehension activities can also be set up as group assignments.
