What pages are used for
Pages are used for content created by the teacher. They are useful for sharing information and helping students move through the course in a clear way. Pages can be used for weekly overviews, summaries of course units, reading information, and links to related materials. The Rich Content Editor is the main tool for creating and editing pages.
What you can do with pages
In the Rich Content Editor, teachers can add text, images, media, and links to other course content such as assignments, quizzes, files, other pages, and the syllabus. It is also possible to record short media messages and restore an earlier version of a page when needed.
Page settings
Below the editor, page settings can be used to add a page to the course calendar and students’ To Do lists. You can also allow students to edit the page when appropriate.
Why use a page instead of a file
Pages are often a better choice than files when content needs regular updates or should work well on different screen sizes. Text on a page adjusts to the user’s device, and pages are usually quicker to update than files that must be edited and uploaded again.
Restoring an Earlier Version of a Page
It can be useful to restore an earlier version of a page, for example, if content was deleted by mistake. Here is how to do it:
- Open the page. Do not click Edit.
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select View Page History. The page versions will appear, with the most recent first.

- Click an earlier version to see how the page looked. When you find the version you want to keep, click Restore this Revision.

To cancel, click the X in the top right corner.
