Transforming traditional learning materials into dynamic, interactive learning experiences

As we embark on a new year, the Canvas team wishes to highlight three tools within Canvas that empower educators to transform traditional learning materials into dynamic, interactive experiences. These tools are Interactive Document, Interactive Video, and Interactive Audio, and are all part of the FeedbackFruits tool suite. They enable the incorporation of questions and discussion threads directly into course content, e.g. recordings or tutorial videos, offering a more engaging learning experience.

These tools offer flexibility in terms of how students interact with the material. For instance, you can decide whether responding to a question is mandatory for students to proceed with a video or an article, or if it’s optional. Student posts can be made anonymous (pseudonymous), and FeedbackFruits can calculate grades based on various criteria. Furthermore, it encourages active learning by enabling students to create their own questions and discussion threads within the content, thus fostering a collaborative learning environment.

For your convenience, the Teacher’s Canvas Instructions include succinct introductory videos for each tool, along with comprehensive guides for both teachers and students on how to effectively utilize the FeedbackFruits tools.
