Emojis and Icons

Emojis
Emojis are small images that can be added, for example, before or after text. Emojis can be used in word processing programs and are not limited to Canvas.
In Windows, you can open the emoji picker by holding down the Windows key and pressing the period key. You can also right-click and select Emoji. On a Mac, the shortcut is Control + Command + Space. These shortcuts work in Canvas as well as in other programs.

The Icon Maker in the Canvas Editor
The Canvas editor includes a tool for creating icons. The Icon Maker button is shown in the screenshot below.

See the video about the Icon Maker on the Images Side by Side page.
See examples of icons in Canvas.
The Icon Maker offers several simple options, such as choosing the icon shape, size, background colour, outline, and adding text. You can use the images provided in the tool or upload your own images.
After the icon has been inserted into the editor, you can make it larger or smaller by selecting it and dragging its edges. The icons are in SVG format, which stands for Scalable Vector Graphics. This means they remain sharp even when resized.
The icons are saved in the course files, in the Icon Maker Icons folder.
