Feedback Request on Work

Purpose

This tool allows students to request feedback from an external reviewer on their own work. It is useful, for example, in internships, workplace-based learning, project work, thesis or report drafts, portfolios, and other assignments where an external perspective is relevant.

The feedback follows a framework defined by the teacher, while students are responsible for sending the request and working with the feedback they receive.

The reviewer may, for example, be a workplace supervisor, mentor, clinical supervisor, external assessor, or industry partner. They do not need access to Ugla, Canvas, or FeedbackFruits in order to provide feedback. The feedback is submitted directly into the FeedbackFruits activity in Canvas.

Teacher

The teacher sets up the activity, defines the criteria, rubrics, rating scales, and instructions, and selects the relevant settings.

Student

The student submits their work, enters who should provide the feedback, and sends the request to that person from within the activity. The student can add a message to the reviewer and, if allowed by the teacher, select which criteria they want feedback on.

Reviewer

The reviewer receives an email link, views the student’s submission, and provides ratings and/or written comments based on the criteria selected for the activity.
