Mastery Paths allow teachers to create conditional learning paths in Canvas. Students start by completing a specific assignment, graded discussion, or graded quiz, and their score determines what they see next.

For example, students who achieve a high score can be given a more advanced task, while those who need more support can be directed to review content or a follow-up activity.

Students only see the assignments, quizzes, discussions, and pages released to them through their path. Any graded assignment, graded discussion, or graded quiz can be used as the starting point for a Mastery Path.
