Enable Attendance in the course navigation

The Attendance tool in Canvas is used to track student attendance and participation. To use it, you first need to make the Attendance link visible in the course navigation. In Canvas, course navigation links are managed in Course Settings under the Navigation tab.

Steps

  1. In the course navigation, click Settings.
  2. At the top of the page, click the Navigation tab.

  3. Find Attendance in the list of hidden navigation items.
  4. Click the three-dot menu next to Attendance and select Enable.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

After you save, the Attendance link will appear in the course navigation. If a navigation link is hidden, students cannot access it through the course menu.
