How do I filter SpeedGrader by student group?
When grading an assignment, it is possible to open SpeedGrader for submissions from one selected student group only. This does not apply to group assignments. This can be useful in large courses where grading is divided among several teachers.
Example
- Teacher A grades submissions from students in group 1.
- Teacher B grades submissions from students in group 2.
To use this, enable Launch SpeedGrader filtered by student group in the course settings.
After this setting has been enabled, grading works as usual except that the teacher must choose a group before opening SpeedGrader.
How to enable the setting
- Open Settings at the bottom of the course navigation menu.
- Make sure the Course Details tab is selected.
- Check Launch SpeedGrader filtered by student group.
- Click Update Course Details at the bottom of the page.
Important
This is a course-level setting. While it is enabled, SpeedGrader can only be opened by first selecting a student group. When the setting is turned off, SpeedGrader works in the standard way again.
