At the end of last week, it was discovered that announcements from teachers were not sent through e-mail to all users. This bug has been fixed, but there are still some issues with the mail for some users.
Unfortunately, your email address is on that list. Announcements are still accessible through the Canvas course page and the Canvas app. We recommend that you regularly open your courses to view announcements.
How to get the Canvas App
In the App Store and Google Play store, you search for Canvas Student if you are a student and Canvas Teacher if you are a teacher.
When you open the app, click on “Find my school” and enter “University of Iceland”. Then you log in to the app with the same IDs you use in Ugla. Then you can open the teaching web of all courses, or click on “Announcements” in the menu at the bottom of the screen and you will get an overview of all notifications you have received.
How to add an extra e-mail address
The UI email address is always the primary email address in Canvas and you use it to sign in. But you can add an extra email address and you will also receive emails from the system sent to that email address.
To add an email address, click “Account” and “Settings”
and to the right you will find “Ways to contact” where you can add an email.
You will then receive an email to the new email address where you need to confirm that you want to receive mail from Canvas. You can then set which notifications go to this inbox by clicking Account – Notifications.
